- IS THE CALENDAR UP TO DATE?
The calendar is updated automatically as soon as the booking is made. However, the booking confirmation number only HOLDS your booking until your credit card is processed, approximately a few days later. At that point your reservation is confirmed.
- IS THERE A MINIMUM BOOKING PERIOD?
Yes. The minimum is 2 nights, 3 nights during holiday weekends and 5 nights during the Christmas period. We always have a special on Weekly rentals – STAY 7 NIGHTS for the PRICE OF 6.
- HOW DO I BOOK THE COTTAGE?
View our open dates on the calendar located on the Availability & Reservations Page. Your reservation confirmation will be automatically sent to you by email. Remember, the reservation is not completed until your credit card has been processed.
- HOW DO I GET THE POLICY, TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE COTTAGE?
After we receive your reservation, we will email you the cottage handbook, along with the Policy, Terms & Conditions. These documents outline the cottage setup, household rules and booking conditions.
- DO I GET THE KEYS FROM THE DESK ON ARRIVAL?
This is a private home on 2/3 of an acre in Dream Valley Estates. We use a keyless entry code system. We will send you the changeable combination code three days prior to your arrival.
- WHAT ARE THE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES?
Arrival is 3:00 PM and departure is 11:00AM unless prior arrangements have been made with the owners.
- CAN I BOOK LAST MINUTE?
We do accept last minute bookings if possible. Our reservation system allows for bookings two days ahead. For next day bookings, you will need to contact us directly by phone.
- WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
Please be sure of your decision, as booking fees of 25% of your total stay are NON-REFUNDABLE. Cancellations prior to 30 days in advance of arrival must be received in writing (email). We will confirm that you have cancelled your reservation by return email. Cancellation after 30 days will result in forfeiture of funds paid to date, unless another booking replaces it. If we get a replacement booking, you will be refunded any portion of your original booking used by the new booker.
- WHY IS THERE A MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY ON THE COTTAGE?
It is necessary to limit the number of guests to consider the demand on the water system, the septic system and to maintain the condition of the cottage. There are 4 double beds in total available.
- CAN WE BRING A TENT, RV OR TRAILER ?
No there is no tenting, camping, or trailers allowed as per the By-law of Dream Valley Estates Strata Council.
- IS THE OCEAN/BEACH CLOSE?
You are never far from the ocean when you are on the Sunshine Coast! Rockridge Retreat is only a short drive to the ocean and there are also several lakes, great for swimming, canoeing and fishing, all within easy access.
- CAN I, OR MY GUEST BRING A PET?
The cottage is pet friendly, but you will need to contact us to register your pet. There is a size and number restriction. Bedding for your pet is not provided and you will need to bring protective blankets or linens if your pets like to climb up with you like mine do!! There is wildlife in the area, so do not leave your dog tied up. Water and food bowls are available.
- WHO CLEANS THE COTTAGE?
As we are privately owned and do not have a crew of cleaners, you are expected to leave the cottage in the same condition you found it. Cleaning supplies and a cleaning check-list (sent for your information, prior to booking fee charged) are provided. We realize that doing the laundry takes a HUGE chunk out of the last day of your stay, so we launder the linens. All beds used during your stay must be stripped and the linens left at the washing machine. The cottage will be inspected after your departure so it is ready for incoming guests.
- IS THERE A TELEPHONE AT THE COTTAGE?
Yes, there is a telephone and emergency numbers are posted nearby. We ask that you use the phone for local calls only. There is also cell phone coverage in the area.
- IS THERE INTERNET ACCESS AT THE COTTAGE?
Dial-up (sorry no high-speed in these parts) access is provided from May through October.

Terms and Conditions
RESTRICTIONS
The Renter agrees to abide by the restrictions set forth by the
Owner and shall be responsible for any and all guests, for adherence to
the restrictions.
REPRESENTATION
The information contained in any printed material, photographs is
believed to be accurate at the time of publication. The Owner gives no
warranty as to the state of the Property and accepts no liability for
any act, neglect or default on the part of the Owner. Boats, motors,
TV’s, VCR’s and other such equipment are supplied at the discretion of
the Owner as an added feature for the Renter. While every attempt will
be made to ensure that such equipment and all other appliances are in
working order for a Renter’s vacation, should any breakdown or other
situation occur whereby these items are not available for the term of
the rental period, the Owner will not take responsibility for replacing
or refunding the Renter for the lack of use of these elements.
INVENTORY/HOUSEHOLD RULES
The Renter agrees to read and abide by the Household Rules and to use
the inventory and equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Any
additional cleaning required, breakage or damage to inventory, equipment
or any other part of cottage property, above and beyond normal “wear and
tear” will result in a charge to the Renter's credit card.
LIABILITY
The Owner shall not be responsible for any personal injury or loss,
however caused, which shall be sustained by the Renter or any other
persons who may be on or about the demised premises, or by the Renter or
any other person who uses any recreational equipment that may be on or
about the Property. All risks of any such injury or loss are being
assumed by the Renter, who shall hold the Owner harmless and indemnified
therefrom.
The parties agree that this agreement shall be governed by the laws
of the Province of British Columbia and agree to attorn solely to the
jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia with respect to any and
all disputes arising out of the interpretation and application of this
agreement and the relationship between Rockridge Retreat Estate Ltd. and
the Renter. |
